Try to attend the massive rally at the Aurora Planned Parenthood at 3051 New York Street from 9 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday in Aurora. I have to miss the event to speak to students at DePaul University in Chicago and then to People Concerned for the Unborn Child in Pittsburgh, but my prayers are with all the good pro-lifers who attend the rally in Aurora. As Eric says, our plan is to shut them down.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America is getting kicked around these days.
Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics in Denton, Texas has given them a bad time for several years now, interviewing employees of some 800 abortion centers—many run by Planned Parenthood—to prove that they are covering up the crime of statutory rape by provide abortions for underage girls made pregnant by older men. Thus they are complicit in the felony of rape, which goes unreported. This is a crime.

Joseph M. Scheidler received the William Lloyd Garrison Award at the 10th anniversary celebration of the Thomas More Society Pro-Life Law Center in Highland Park, Illinois, Saturday, October 20.
The Thomas More Society was founded in 1997 specifically to defend Joe in the infamous NOW v. Scheidler lawsuit brought by the National Organization for Women. With a victory twice in the United States Supreme Court, overturning the 1998 Judgment against Scheidler and the pro-life defendants, the Thomas More Society became the go-to law firm for pro-life activists facing legal challenges.
Scheidler’s award is named in honor of the nineteenth century abolitionist, William Lloyd Garrison, who was outspoken in his opposition to slavery. Garrison advocated the immediate abolition of the institution of slavery. In the first issue of his anti-slavery newspaper, The Liberator, he stated: “I do not wish to think, or speak, or write, with moderation. . . . I am in earnest—I will not equivocate—I will not excuse—I will not retreat a single inch—and I will be heard.”
Garrison was considered the most radical of abolitionists, but he also adherred adamantly to nonviolence and passive resistance, and philosophy that also permeates the pro-life activist movement. Scheidler is honored to be cast in the same mode as William Lloyd Garrison.

It’s not over.
We’re here for life.
Now that the “Abortion Fortress” has opened on the east side of Aurora, Planned Parenthood and City officials expect us to give up and go away. But we’re not going away.
On Saturday, October 27, we’ll show Planned Parenthood and the City of Aurora that our peaceful campaign is full of life. We won’t quit until the “Abortion Fortress” is closed for good.
We’ll be there for the mothers. We’ll be there for the babies. We’ll be there for life.
Have you seen our full-page ad on the back page of The Wanderer’s October 11 issue? It reviews the whole “Battle of Aurora” and relates how Eric Scheidler, the League’s Communications Director, kept Aurora’s new behemoth Planned Parenthood abortion mill from opening for two weeks, and now—after the Mayor ordered it opened—is determined to close it down again.
Well, there’s good news today. Pro-life pharmacist Luke Vander Bleek won a victory in Illinois when a judge ruled that individual pharmacists are covered under the Right of Conscience Law as health professionals. In other words, Vander Bleek does not have to follow a 2005 executive order by Illinois Governor Rob Blajgovich, to dispense the contraceptive/abortion pill Plan B.
Mayor Thomas Weisner was soundly excoriated Tuesday night at the Aurora City Council meeting for bypassing the council and the citizens of Aurora when he unilaterally gave Planned Parenthood the go-ahead to open their abortion clinic at 3051 New York Street
Planned Parenthood is up to its cheap fundraising tricks again. They are railing against the “40 Days for Life” campaign now going on in front of some 89 abortion mills across the nation, and are encouraging a “Pledge Against the Protesters” program, where fellow baby killers pledge so much money for each pro-lifer who shows up to pray.
The League is sponsoring a Face the Truth tour in Indianapolis this weekend. If you are an Indiana caller, meet the tour at 86th and Meridian at 9 a.m., Castleton Square at 11:30 and Lafayette Square at 3 p.m. Last year’s Indianapolis tour was one of our best out-of-towners with ten-to-one positive response.

Local activists under the direction of the Pro-Life Action League’s Communications Director, Eric Scheidler, successfully delayed the opening of the notorious “Abortion Fortress of Aurora” for two weeks, saving countless mothers and babies from abortion. And their battle against Planned Parenthood continues unabated.
Since August 9, the local pro-lifer group, Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood, has been working to keep Planned Parenthood out of Aurora. Their tireless efforts have included a round-the-clock Vigil, rallies, marches, protests and speeches at the City Council.
