On August 25, hundreds of pro-lifers from throughout the Fox Valley of Illinois will gather at the site of the Planned Parenthood’s new “Abortion Fortress” at 3051 E. New York Street in Aurora (map) for a massive pro-life protest and rally. An around-the-clock Vigil has been going on at the site since August 9.

“Planned Parenthood snuck into our town and the City Council let them. We’ll be out there on Saturday to show them both that the people of Aurora want to keep abortion out of Aurora!” declared Eric Scheidler. Scheidler, the Pro-Life Action League’s Communications Director and an Aurora resident, has been spearheading the grassroots effort, Families Against Planned Parenthood.

Over 100 pro-lifers came out for a press conference last Thursday with only 48 hours notice, and more than 400 attended a Community Meeting that evening at Aurora’s Prisco Center. “Opposition to Planned Parenthood is growing every day,” commented Scheidler.

Four Pro-Life Events in One!

The event on Saturday will run from 9-11 a.m. and will include four different spheres of activity:

  1. The ongoing Prayer Vigil, supplemented by scores more Prayer Warriors
  2. An old-school picket along Oakhurst Drive and New York Street
  3. A Truth Tour on the busy nearby corner of New York Street and Eola Drive
  4. A huge leafleting drive throughout the Oakhurst neighborhood

Participants are asked to park at Our Lady of Mercy Church at 801 S. Eola Drive, a mile south of the protest site (map). A shuttle will operate between the Church and the Rally from 8:30 to 11:30.
