Chicago, Oct. 31—As Respect Life Month comes to a close, Generations for Life, a Chicago-based pro-life youth outreach, is encouraging teens across the country to carry on pro-life activities throughout the year with the help of their new Pro-Life Curriculum.
Our hat is off to the good pro-lifers of South Dakota for all the work they are doing to win the referendum on Deferred Law 6, the law passed last spring that would make abortion a crime in that state except to prevent the death of the mother. It is the strongest pro-life law ever proposed, passed in the legislature, and signed by a Governor, and it would be the law except for the abortion forces who managed to hold it up for a referendum to be decided by the people Nov. 7.
Arlene Sawicki informs us that Georgetown University’s Law Center has established the Rev. Robert F. Drinan Chair in Human Rights.
Fr. Drinan of Massachusetts, as old-time pro-lifers will recall, was a sure pro-abortion vote in the Congress of the United States, and was eventually ordered out of the Congress by Pope John Paul II himself, but not before Drinan had helped send millions of unborn babies to their deaths by abortion. Fr. Drinan was known among pro-lifers as “Father Death.” I literally ran into him once in Washington and I thought I had seen a ghost.
Chicago, Oct. 24—”It is outrageous to expect the Catholic Church to go against its own beliefs, said Joseph M. Scheidler, National Director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League, in response to the ruling by New York State’s Court of Appeals that Catholic Charities must provide contraceptive coverage to its employees.
Chicago, Oct. 23—”I am not surprised that Planned Parenthood singled out the Pro-Life Action League in their so-called Strategy for Moving Forward,” said Joseph M. Scheidler, National Director of the Chicago-based activist group. “That shows they view us as a formidable opponent. I’m proud to be a thorn in Planned Parenthood’s side.”
The two-hundred pro-lifers who attended the Pro-Life Action Ministries banquet in Orlando FL Saturday seemed eager to renew their commitment to activism and determined to drive the baby-killers from their midst.
It seems the abortion business is going through a recession, with the announcement of abortion mills going into bankruptcy and closing down on an almost weekly basis. At the peak of the abortion binge in America there were over 3,000 abortion mills in operation. The number now is less than 900.

There’s a recent victory in the abortion wars right here in the Illinois as we learn from Joan Solms that the infamous Aurora, IL death trap of Alexander Jackobowski has been shut down tight as a drum.

On October 7, 2006, three hundred pro-life Chicagoans gathered at the foot of the towering Our Lady of the New Millennium statue to pray for an end to abortion at a vigil hosted by Chicago chapter of the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants, a division of the Pro-Life Action League.
Through the generosity of the statue’s owner, Mrs. Francine Demma, Our Lady stood facing the notorious Family Planning Associates abortion facility during the day-long vigil led by Bishop John Manz of the Archdiocese of Chicago. After celebrating a special pro-life Mass at the nearby Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, Bishop Manz led a procession to the statue of Our Lady, where the faithful prayed for the lives of unborn babies and the conversion of all involved with the culture of death.
