We’re back from a successful protest in the Big Apple. New York at Christmas time is an exciting city. This past weekend our protest at American Girl Place on Fifth Avenue was in fact a fun-filled day and a half despite the serious nature of the mission.
The evening before the protest we went to the Empire State Building, but a 90 minute wait to go to the top was excessive for people in a rush, so we visited Macy’s and ate at the Heartland Brewery. Then we visited Sr. Agnes Mary and the Sisters of Life at the Church of Our Savior, 38th St. and Park Ave., where they presented a sacred concert of Advent music. We then attended Gian Carol Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors at St. Peter’s Church in Chelsea and spent the night in Yonkers.
Chicago, Dec. 8—The Pro-Life Action League will lead a picket by parents and their daughters at American Girl Place on Fifth Avenue in New York City on Saturday, December 10, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, in protest of American Girl’s ties to the pro-abortion advocacy group, Girls Incorporated.
Wednesday is the Feast of St. Ambrose who fought the Arian Heresy almost single-handedly. Arians wanted to take away Christ’s divinity, making Christians all hopeless wrecks with Heaven still closed. Thank St. Ambrose for his tireless efforts and prayers to dispel Arianism, but also pray for our modern Arians, who are legion.
Wednesday is also Pearl Harbor Day. Pray for all the brave men and women who gave their lives in World War II to preserve our freedoms.
Members of the League will be joining New York pro-lifers in a picket of the American Girl Place in New York City (map), Saturday, December 10.
Our past trips to the Big Apple have included pickets, protests, sit-ins, Truth Tours and sidewalk counseling, infiltration of pro-abortion rallies, and national press conferences, picketing the Democratic National Convention and holding a Meet the Abortion Providers conference. We’ve done Nightline and Montel Williams and Good Morning America live.
But this time we’ll be alerting New Yorkers to the betrayal of American Girl for its unholy alliance with pro-abortion Girls Inc.
As reported on Wednesday‘s Action News Hotline all those present at the Supreme Court Wednesday are optimistic that when the NOW v. Scheidler ruling comes down we will be the winner—again.

Joe Scheidler and the Pro-Life Action League are confident of a final victory in the NOW v. Scheidler case, following oral arguments in the Supreme Court. Scheidler v. NOW was the first case heard on Wednesday, November 30, when oral arguments were also heard in the New Hampshire parental notification case, Planned Parenthood v. Ayotte.
In 2003, the Supreme Court reversed the 1999 district court judgement against Scheidler, with William Rehnquist writing for the eight-judge majority, “Because all of the predicate acts supporting the jury’s finding of a RICO violation must be reversed, the judgment that petitioners violated RICO must also be reversed.” He concluded, “Without an underlying RICO violation, the injunction issued by the District Court must necessarily be vacated.”
Today was the biggest day thus far in Joe Scheidler’s 20-year court battle with pro-abortion forces. For the third time, oral hearings in the NOW v. Scheidler case were heard at the U.S. Supreme Court.
We will call the office after oral hearings at the U.S. Supreme Court Wednesday, and John Jansen will put our observations on Wednesday’s Action News.

The Pro-Life Action League led a picket of American Girl Place in Chicago on Friday, Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving which traditionally marks the begining of the Christmas shopping season. Fifty volunteers braved the cold downtown winds to hold picket signs and pass out literature [PDF] on American Girl’s financial support of the pro-abortion group Girls Incorporated and the League’s boycott.
Chicago, Nov. 28—The U. S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in NOW v. Scheidler on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 10:00 a.m. This is the third time this case has come before the High Court.
