Chicago, Nov. 12—”I am pleased to see that the jury in the Scott Peterson case has recognized the value of the unborn child whose life was taken when Peterson killed his wife, Laci,” said Joseph M. Scheidler, National Director of the Pro-Life Action League, in response to the announcement of the verdict in Redwood City, California.
More than a week after the election the liberals from every profession and walk of life are still belly-aching and screaming and shouting about the Republican win, the sudden revelation that moral values still matter to the majority of Americans and that the Democrats’ dirty tricks didn’t work.
The conference in Des Moines, IA Saturday was a great success. It was a privilege to be a part of the event, with my talk and a whole teen program by our own Annie Casselman and John Jansen.
Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics spoke on his effective efforts to close down abortion mills and convert the abortionists. His talk was not only informative but very entertaining.

Pro-lifers across the country are overjoyed at the results of last night’s presidential election. The re-election of George W. Bush holds the promise for future pro-life victories at the federal level, especially in the appointment of judges. Perhaps more significantly, the strong showing of pro-lifers at the polls is cause for great optimism for the entire pro-life movement.
Also encouraging was the passage of ballot initiatives in eleven states restricting marriage to one man and one woman. Disappointing was the decision of California voters to fund embryonic stem cell research.
I will be speaking in Des Moines, IA this weekend at the annual Iowa Right to Life Convention. The Convention is entitled All About Planned Parenthood and will include speakers such as Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics, George Grant, author of Grand Illusions about Planned Parenthood and Jim Sedlak of STOPP Planned Parenthood.
Chicago, Nov. 3—Veteran Pro-Life activist Joe Scheidler is calling today’s election results a decisive moment for the pro-life movement in the United States. Pro-life Christians turned out in record numbers to voice their support for life at the polls yesterday.

Over fifty enthusiastic pro-life activists braved strong, chilly winds at the Westin Chicago River North Hotel Saturday evening to protest the presentation of the Robert Belarmine award by Loyola University School of Law to Lisa Madigan, Illinois Attorney General.
The Pro-Life Action League organized the protest because of Madigan’s strong support for abortion and her pledge during her campaign for the office Attorney General to close down “phony” crisis pregnancy centers. Madigan was endorsed by Planned Parenthood, NOW and other pro-abortion groups.
These are sacred days, Monday the Feast of All Saints and Tuesday the Feast of All Souls, when we pray for the dead. Tuesday is also Election Day, so pray also for our country’s life.
The rest of the month is for the rest of us, the Feast of the Church Militant.

As a state legislator from 1999-2003, Madigan compiled a solid pro-abortion record, including a vote against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. During the campaign she vowed to shut down “phony” crisis pregnancy centers.
