On April 10, Good Friday, the Pro-Life Action League hosted the prayer of the Stations of the Cross at two area abortuaries, one in Chicago and the other in Aurora.

The Stations in Aurora began at 3 p.m. Over 120 pro-lifers gathered outside of Planned Parenthood Aurora to remember Our Lord's Passion. Many of those present were visiting an abortion mill for the first time to pray the stations and were very encouraged by the prayer.

This version used in Aurora was "The Way of the Cross for Victims of Abortion," which in addition to the beautiful prayers about Our Lord's suffering also includes prayers for the women, unborn babies and everyone else touched by the pain of abortion.

The faithful gathered on the corner of Oakhurst Drive and New York Street and followed the stations which were staked in the ground all the way around the vacant lot to the spot across from the entrance to Planned Parenthood where our sidewalk counselors stand. The station were built and staked by the League's Eric Scheidler and his son Sam.

High winds whipped across the lot and threatened to knock some of the stations down as Father Cesar Pajarillo of St. Rita of Cascia parish in Aurora led the stations and imparted his blessing on the faithful.

After the stations, the League's Eric shared some words of encouragement and gave out copies of the League's new "Sharing the Pro-Life Message" handbook, which is available free at FreeProlifeHandbook.com.

Stations at Albany in Chicago

Later that evening, over 80 pro-lifers gathered to pray the stations at the Albany abortion center on Elston Ave. in Chicago. Judith Dasse, organizer of the Good Friday Stations, supplied pictures of each station to be held by participants, including Joe and Ann Scheidler.

Fr. Gerald O’Reilly of St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church on the south side led the prayers, offering invocations for the babies who are killed at Albany, the mothers and fathers whose lives are impacted by abortion, the doctors, nurses and staff at the clinic and the society harmed by abortion.

Many of those who attended the Stations at Albany pray and counsel regularly at the abortion facility. As in Aurora, the faithful were greatly blessed by remembering the Passion of Our Lord at the site of the slaughter of His innocent children.
